The enzyme, characterized from the bacterium Salinispora tropica, participates in the biosynthesis of ketomemicins. In vitro the enzyme could use multiple other amino acids, including L-cysteine, L-isoleucine, L-leucine, L-methionine, L-tyrosine, L-phenylalanine and L-tryptophan instead of L-valine. |
