Accepted name: |
ABC-type tyrosine transporter |
Reaction: |
ATP + H2O + L-tyrosinyl-[tyrosine-binding protein][side 1] = ADP + phosphate + L-tyrosine[side 2] + [tyrosine-binding protein][side 1] |
Systematic name: |
ATP phosphohydrolase (ABC-type, L-tyrosine-importing) |
Comments: |
An ATP-binding cassette (ABC) type transporter, characterized by the presence of two similar ATP-binding domains/proteins and two integral membrane domains/proteins. The enzyme, found in Clostridioides, interacts with an extracytoplasmic substrate binding lipoprotein and mediates the import of L-tyrosine. L-phenylalanine is also tranported however with lower efficiency. |
